Big congratulations to our five SMCHS VEX teams (two of whom qualified for the world tournament!) who competed in the Wisconsin VRC State Championship robotics tournament at Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, March 4. The qualifying teams were:

1200A Syntax Error
1200C Technical Breakdown
1200D Short Circuit
1200E Nutz ‘n’ Voltz
1200F  Z-Ballers

Two teams earned spots in the 2017 VEX Robotics World Championship, April 19-22 in Louisville, Kentucky.  Technical Breakdown qualified by winning the DESIGN Award and Z-Ballers qualified by finishing the day in second place as tournament finalists.  Z-Ballers also won the AMAZE Award. St. Mary Catholic High School’s sophomore team, 1200A Syntax Error, brought back the SPORTSMANSHIP Award.

Several teams will also compete in the Create U.S. Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa, April 6-8, 2017.

Congratulations to ALL of our teams for your hard work, dedication, and a very good competition season!
