Rain couldn’t stop a great day at High Cliff Golf Course on Friday, July 15, 2022. St. Mary Catholic Schools (SMCS) Booster Club’s annual fundraising golf outing, the Greater Zephyrs Open (GZO), kicked off a few hours later than planned, but all participants were able to spend the afternoon on the golf course.

GZO is the largest fundraiser for the SMCS Booster Club. Proceeds from the event help keep participation fees affordable for student-athletes. Money raised subsidizes the cost of uniforms, equipment and trainer services for all student-athletes, opening more opportunities for students of all athletic abilities and giving them the chance to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities.

This year, 109 golfers participated in GZO and over $26,000 was raised. The event was held at High Cliff Golf Course, which is owned by SMCS alum Jeff Luniak (Class of 1976) and Dan Rippl (Class of 1977). In addition to golf, the event included games and a variety of raffles.

Thank you to all who helped make the day a success!
