Mary Lou Kalaus
I am very happy to continue my professional career with St. Mary Catholic Schools. Being a 1981 graduate of St. Mary Central High School (after attending St. Mary elementary School) I have always valued Catholic education. Because of that, I went on to St. Norbert College where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. Fall of that year I began teaching at St. Gabriel School in Neenah. In my nine years there, I taught second, sixth and fifth grades, all subjects.
I left Catholic Schools for one year to finish my graduate work at UW-Oshkosh where I received a Master’s of Science degree in School Counseling, graduating in 1995. I was hired that fall at St. Mary School in Greenville where I spent five years as the school principal. In those five years, I married Brent and we were blessed with two children, Claire and Bryce. A desire to have my summer free to be with my children led me to leave that position, after-which I spent two years as a Campus Minister and religion teacher at another Diocesan School.
Finally, in 2002 I came back to our school system when I was hired as the middle school guidance counselor and campus minister. That is the position I continue to have today. I am truly blessed to work in such a strong faith filled environment. I see the benefits as both an employee and as a parent, choosing to send my own children through the system.
My family loves to spend time together sharing vacations with extended family members, celebrating holidays, taking walks, playing games and watching Packer games.
