Summer Fine Arts
SMCS students (and even community members) have multiple opportunities to grow in their love of fine arts and develop their talents in many areas throughout the summer, ranging from instrument lessons to a community theater.
SUMMER BAND CAMP
The focus of this three day camp is on pep band, marching concepts and having fun! Anyone who plays a band instrument and is interested in performing with the SMCHS Pep and Marching Band is encouraged to sign up (whether they take band or not). Details for this year are below.
JULY 30 THROUGH AUGUST 3 • 9:00 A.M. – NOON
All band students (incoming 9th-12th grade) are strongly encouraged to attend. Here is what to expect:
• Marching Fundamentals
• Field Marching Basics
• Halftime Field Show!
• Rehearsal of Pep Band Music
(Old and New Tunes)
$20 fee – cash or check (payable to SMCS) to Mrs. Pamela Barnhill or the SMCHS school office before July 30.

SMCS FINE ARTS PROGRAM
ZEPHYR PLAYER COMMUNITY THEATER
SMCS Zephyr Players Community Theater will present “Annie” July 19-22. Stop by the FAEC anytime on Saturday May 12 between noon and 3:00 p.m. to audition. Please prepare a song about one minute in length.
In addition to the community performance, a special students-only edition will be cast, at no additional cost to participants. Check out the Community Theater information packet. Questions? Contact Hayden Kraus.
Student Edition Cast
Students ages 8-16 have a bonus opportunity to take on the full roles in an abridged version of “Annie.” The student edition experience also comes with free drama workshops taught by professional guest artists. Students should plan to audition the same day and time as the community production.
