Wi-Fi Update
SMCS-BYOD – (Bring Your Own Device) – can be used on personal devices for basic web browsing by staff/faculty/students with a network login – Uses your computer login and password – Keeps you logged into the public network for up to 16 hours. – once you’re on it should automagically place you at the correct filter level – limited to 15mbps (subject to change if bandwidth becomes an issue)

SMCS-PUBLIC – password is 1050zephyr – can be used by anyone for basic web browsing – filtered to a middle school policy during school hours– kicks you off once your device is inactive – limited to 5mbps
NOTE – St. Gabriel WiFi still needs to be upgraded yet.

Expiring Passwords
Please change your password when you start to get the warning
or you will not be able to access network resources, files, printers, internet, etc…
New passwords will need to be at least 8 characters and nothing previously used.

Email to the new.rr.com domain is randomly getting kicked back.
It’s them, not us. Keep trying is all I can suggest.

SMCS HelpDesk Ticketing System.
HelpDesk has been updated, moved to a faster server, and has a few new features.
Offsite access is disabled to the internal webserver.
HOW TO CREATE A TICKET
You can create a ticket from work or home by sending an eMail to [email protected]
The new ticketing system will then create a ticket for you.
eMail Subject – (School initials, SMC,MS,SG,SM,SMM) – Short problem description (ex. SMC- My drive is spinning)
eMail Body – Detailed description (Please include your name when using personal email)
