Volunteer Readiness

At St. Mary Catholic Schools, we welcome parents, grandparents and community members to volunteer by helping in the classroom, coaching a team or chaperoning a field trip. Contact your child’s principal, teacher or coach about how you can help.

Every administrator, faculty or staff member, parent volunteer, coach and chaperone MUST have successfully completed the Green Bay Diocese’s VIRTUS® – Protecting God’s Children program before being allowed to spend time with students.

Certification requires completing an application, authorizing a background check and completing a training session. Generally, one training session is offered at SMCS near the beginning of each semester, though the requirement may be completed at another location in the Diocese of Green Bay. Contact an SMCS school office for the specifics about how to become VIRTUS trained.

The next training session at St. Mary Catholic Schools will take place on Saturday September 12, 2015 at St. Mary Central High School. Contact the business office or call 722-7796 extension 807 for details. If you are unable to attend this session, other opportunities are being offered at several locations throughout the diocese.
