Current COVID-19 Protocols/Policies

Below are current guidelines regarding COVID-19 protocols and policies for St. Mary Catholic Schools campuses and buildings:

  • Masking is optional at all SMCS schools, effective June 4, 2021. Please note connecting parishes may have different protocols for their buildings.
  • Regular cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing is taking place.
  • Handwashing and hygiene protocols are in place.
  • Daily health self-monitoring recommended by all staff, students, and others on campuses.*
  • Individual volunteers and visitors are allowed in our schools.
  • Protocols for Masses and liturgical celebrations follow the guidelines of our parishes.
  • Other health protocols are maintained aligned with Diocese of Green Bay guidance.

 

2021-22 School Year Plans

For the the 2021-22 school year – based on successfully being in person for student learning five days a week for the 2020-21 school year, continued improvement of the COVID-19 health situation, and increased vaccination rates – SMCS is confident all SMCS schools will be healthy environments for all students to be in person this coming fall and have planned the following protocols for the upcoming school year:

  • All students will be in person this fall.
  • Masking will be optional in all SMCS schools. Please note connecting parishes may have different protocols for their buildings.
  • Daily health self-monitoring recommended by all staff, students, and others on campuses.*
  • Regular cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing will take place.
  • Handwashing and hygiene protocols will be in place.
  • Field trips will resume based on busing guidelines.
  • Individual volunteers and visitors will be allowed in our schools.
  • The SMCS Enrichment Program will resume.
  • Protocols for Masses and liturgical celebrations will follow the guidelines of our parishes.
  • Other health protocols will be maintained aligned with Diocese of Green Bay guidance.

More information about preparations for the 2021-22 school year will be shared as decisions are made over the coming weeks and months.

 

*COVID-19 Self-Monitoring

*Please screen at home for the following symptoms prior to visiting an SMCS campus:

  • fever greater than 100.4
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • body aches
  • fatigue
  • runny nose
  • nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • a change to your ability to taste or smell
  • cough and shortness of breath
  • Chest pain, bluish lips or face, new-onset mental confusion (Emergent care is needed if you experience these symptoms.)

The health, wellbeing, and safety of all is a top priority at SMCS. If experiencing symptoms of mild or severe COVID-19 illness as outlined above, please do not visit SMCS campuses during that time.
