I graduated from University of Wisconsin – Platteville in 1972 with a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education with a major in English and a minor in mathematics. I continued my education at the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and completed an elementary certification in 1989. In 2015 I completed the certification for Math Intervention from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh.
I began my teaching career at St. Mary Grade School in 1973 where I taught 6th grade for two years and 4th grade until the birth of my oldest son in December of 1975. I returned to teaching in 1989 at Seton Catholic Middle School where I taught until the school became St. Mary Catholic Middle School. During that time I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade algebra, pre-algebra, general math, language arts, and religion. Currently I am teaching 6th grade math and religion at St. Mary Catholic Middle School.
I have been married to my husband Michael since 1972. We are the the proud parents of four children: Nathan, Jessica, Becky, and David. All four graduated from St. Mary Grade School, Seton Catholic Middle School, and St. Mary Central High School. They have given us the gift of six grandchildren.
The importance of teaching in a Catholic school was brought home to me when the towers went down in 2001. As the students and I watched in horror as the story unfolded, we as a classroom were able to join together in prayer for victims and families. It brought strength and purpose to all of us plus emphasizing the power of prayer to the students.
