SMCHS students may sign up for STEPS (Summer Training for Endurance, Power, Strength and Speed), a summer strength and conditioning program that introduces students to exercises using primarily free weights combined with plyometrics, conditioning and agility work designed to maximize a student’s ability and prepare him/her for the upcoming season. S.T.E.P.S. is offered for ¼ credit for SMCHS students. Two full summers of S.T.E.P.S. participation will result in ½ credit on the student’s transcript (the equivalent of one semester of P.E.).
SMCHS student athletes are encouraged to help out at their sports’ summer sports camps for youth. Students should check with their coaches for more details.
